Welcome to the website of Rothbury Parish Council
Rothbury is a small market town set on the banks of the River Coquet in Northumberland, and although technically a town, everyone still tends to call it a village. It has a village feel about it. Shops, hotels and houses are spread on each side of the river, though the commercial heart is set on the north side along with the recreation areas of Tennis, Bowls and Football.
The main shopping area is situated on the ‘High Street’, though there are excellent and interesting shops on ‘Bridge Street’, ‘Town Foot’ and ‘Front Street’. A short walk from Town Foot are the Tennis Courts, Bowling Green, 5 a-side pitch and the Stepping Stones. These stones allow you to cross the River and head up towards Station Road and the ‘Coquetvale Hotel’
